Finally a college graduate (Washington University in St. Louis), I am taking advantage of this new found
freedom to move to Israel for 10 months and work with children from
disadvantaged backgrounds in the coastal city of Akko! And science is
the name of the game. Especially with the bounding scientific and
technical opportunities available in Israel, I want to show kids why
science is so awesome and hopefully lead them to brighter futures. I have two years of Hebrew under my belt, but I can't wait to
start really speaking it every day, and I wouldn't complain about
picking up some Arabic too! After
my Israeli adventure, I will begin my PhD training at Yale University
in biochemistry, but hopefully this year will help me gain perspective
on the type of work I want to pursue after I have earned my degree.
Two of my favorite websites are: http://translate.google.com/ and http://www.morfix.co.il/ because I wouldn't be functioning without them! If you need any help with translations, Morfix is the best dictionary to use for a few words and Google is a lifesaver for longer sections :)
